Varzob River, Tajikistan

Running through these mountains was the Varzob River. It really was this milky green color.

The roads were built on a shelf cut out of the base of the mountains. This photo and a few more I have were taken out the window of a moving car driven by a kamikaze driver. I was sitting in the middle of three people in the back seat. We were rocking around so much, I put my feet on each side of the hump, then hooked a foot under each front seat to stablilize myself.

I put my little fast 50 mm, f/1.4 lens on the camera and when I saw a good scene, I leaned in front of the guy next to me and snapped. I'll post a few of them that turned out reasonably well for the conditions. This is one of them.

(Photo info: iso iso, Minolta 50 mm, f/1.4, 1/4000 sec, camera hand held), Varzobh Region, Tajikistan, September 17, 2006
