The mountains of the Sinai Peninsula are bare and rugged peaks sitting in a sea of sand.
This photo was taken as the plane descended into Sharm El Sheikh airport. As described in the previous post, it was difficult to wonder off from the 'luxury compound' to find photo opportunities. The roads in this area are curbed and run through the desert behind the long line of hotels lining the coast. I'm sure there are some places to go for better photography, but I wasn't able to get there given my limited time and schedule in Sharm El Sheikh.
Photo info: iso 100, f/6.3, 1/800 sec, exp bias +.7, 105 mm, camera hand held, Sharm El Shiekh, Egypt, May 19, 2006
