Light Between the Clouds, Lake Michigan

Previous | Home | Next

This photo was taken in late afternoon as the plane was descending over Lake Michigan into Chicago International Airport. We had descended far enough that we were below the highest layer of clouds, but still above the bottom layer of clouds. The sun cut through the upper layer to set the lower layer aglow.

(Photo info: f/6.3, 1/500 sec, iso 100, 90 mm, camera hand held), Lake Michigan, February 23, 2006
