Landscape from 31,000 feet. The ice and snow piled up on this point in Lake Erie made a wonderful abstract photo. I was even able to identfy it by scanning the shore of Lake Erie using Google Earth. If you know the flight path of the airplane, and sometimes the pilot makes an announcement of your location, as in this case, the pilot said we were passing over Lake Erie, this enables me to search and identify the exact location. I've found this is great fun.
Here's the question for the viewer of the photograph: Does this information enhance the photo or is it best to let it be viewed as an abstract without earth bound details?
(Photo info: f/6.3, 1/500 sec, iso 100, 90 mm, camera hand held), Lake Erie, Canada, Februrary 23, 2006.
